For the Record … I Don’t Sell Nimble CRM

Some folks that I speak with are under the impression that, as I am a Solution Partner for Nimble CRM, I sell Nimble. Nothing could be farther from the truth. If people decide that Nimble is right for them, I assist them with implementation and training on the system.

The absolute last place that I want to find myself in would be in a consulting contract with a person or company who I convinced that Nimble was the right solution for them. I don’t need the money and I need the headaches even less.

When people take advantage of my free 30-minute Zoom consultation, I am there to answer their questions honestly. These sessions often go over the allotted time and my answers might include (generally include) …

  • Yes, Nimble will do that 
  • No, Nimble will not do that
  • Yes, Nimble can do that, but not in the way that you envision it
  • No, Nimble can’t do that but … we could do this instead 

I provide straight to the point answers and, if applicable, options. In short, I take great pains to ensure that folks know exactly what they are going into should they choose Nimble.

Of course, I can’t possibly anticipate every question that someone might ask me. Each business has their own unique needs. While I can probe for wants and deal breakers, understanding those needs is their responsibility, not mine. I own the answers to those questions, nothing more.

I have never attempted to talk anybody into choosing Nimble over any other CRM application. For that matter, as I don’t represent any other CRMs, I am not familiar enough with the hundreds, or maybe thousands, of alternatives to make any valid comparisons. 

Instead of being familiar with multiple applications, I focus solely on being very well versed on Nimble only. I never ask for the order. It’s entirely up to the client whether or not they ultimately decide on Nimble or if they should choose to contract with me for my services.

I simply can’t imagine a worst case scenario than having to explain to people why I can’t deliver on my promises. Life is too short.
