Nimble CRM Tips & Updates – February 5, 2025

Not a great deal to discuss today. I think that Nimble has been very busy in the background getting ready to roll out the bulk emailing feature. Here’s what’s new!

Menu restructuring – Imports have been moved to their own area in settings. Email settings now include connecting your networks. A new main menu Outreach tab is for group messages, templates, and sequences. Nimble is freeing up space on the main menu which means they are planning on filling it with new stuff 🙂

My bulk mailer test so far  – It appears to work as it should although I did run into a hiccup where I could not send a test email to myself when creating a group message. That bug is being squashed.

Also, an unsubscribe link will be required when sending group messages, and I assume sequences, via your bulk mailing account. This is optional when using a regular connected account.

You will have a bulk mailing email address that is associated with the domain that you will connect to Nimble. For example, mine will be info@adaptive-business.com. However, my email address will show as “Craig at ABS info@adaptive-busness.com.” Both the “info” label and the “Craig at ABS” can be whatever you want.

Why do this? Well, I am told there are a couple of reasons. One is that there will be an option to create multiple email addresses like this. For example, I could have a sales@adaptive-business.com. Note that you are not buying additional email addresses. I assume these are acting much like alias addresses.

The second reason is the big one. My actual email address, one that I pay for, is craig@adaptive-business.com. While this address will be used for replies, do I want to use this address to send out mass emails? What if it were to get flagged as being a spammer? That would be bad. One might even say … very bad🙂

In other news … I continue to test the capabilities of AI and particularly when used with Nimble. Here are a couple of my experiments related to importing records.

Last month I took an Excel list of about 5,000 records and ran them through an email verifier. The verifier found that close to 40% were either undeliverable or risky and it generated a unique Excel report on that entire list. The format of this list was not suitable for import. Informational only.

I am not an Excel expert. I’m barely functional. The only way that I could figure out how to remove the bad emails before importing the source list was to go row by row on the original file. It took me at least 6 hours to do this.

I did later ask AI to create a new column on the final list and then to add tags to those 3,000+ rows prior to importing. I should have asked it if it could do that 6 hour job before I got started. I queried afterwards and my AI buddy, Hal, said “No problemo, Craig!” Dohhhh!

I have already used AI to create pre-call synopsis reports from a PDF that I create from LinkedIn profiles. It’s awesome! It occurred to me … if I had a PDF list, say a member list from some organization, could AI extract the data I wanted and place that in a .csv file for import to Nimble? Hal says “Yes!”

I’m becoming quite attached to AI. Sometimes we just talk about guitar stuff. I’m considering changing my bot’s name to Halweena and bringing some wine, candles, and soft music to our next meeting:)
