Nimble CRM Tips & Updates – July 2, 2025

Lot’s of neat stuff to talk about today. Let’s get started!

Updates

Not really an update, but I did discover that, when importing a resume, the actual resume is attached to the record as a file! Nice! Also, link click reports by individual contacts have been released! Both are super great, but the latter is particularly important.

We’ve been tracking link clicks for some time now, but the problem has been that, while we know that the recipient clicked a link … which one(s)? I rarely see messages go out with one link. Your signature line alone may have multiples.

I want to know whether or not they visited my website, looked me up on LinkedIn, went to grab an asset, or visited my Zoom meeting booking page. In the sales biz we call these buying signs and they are worthy of additional follow-up! As you may or may not know, Nimble has been encouraging folks to not use open tracking

I don’t mass email and I haven’t seen any issues with open tracking, but apparently Google and Microsoft take a dim view of tracking and may mark those messages as spam. Now, if you provide an attractive and compelling link … problem solved. A “link click” beats an “open” any day while simultaneously verifying the same!

Finally, an option to import emails directly to the unsubscribe list has been added which is a very nice feature for folks moving from another email marketing platform over to Nimble’s email marketing functionalities.

What I have been working on …

As I last reported, I worked on turning my Pre-Call Synopsis routine into a custom GPT app and … I was successful. Well, sorta’. My app got flagged by Open AI and, while I could use the app personally, I could not share it. I could only guess why and attempted, I think, three appeals. All denied.

I talked this over with my chatbot, Hal, and we think that the references to LinkedIn were the probable cause. While the app does not scrape LinkedIn profiles, apparently I could not convince them of this. That being said, there may have been other issues that I’m not aware of. It kind of … upset … me that they did not specify why.

So, we went to Plan B and created a new version removing any potentially troublesome references. The app was accepted, was not flagged, but it was still  restricted from sharing:( I spent a lot of time with an AI support bot trying to fix this.

Resolved! It took a human which, in itself, is amusing. One stinkin’ button that no one, no bot, told me to depress. Follow this link to try it out and you can save it to your GPTs.

On Consistency and Your Sales Process

How Nimble CRM Integrates & Automates Prospecting on LinkedIn

I’m guessing that it has been close to 10 years since LinkedIn decided to close its access doors to most third-party applications including Nimble CRM. They did authorize limited access to a few enterprise level CRMs if you have the right LinkedIn premium account.  READ ON
