Nimble CRM Tips & Updates – March 4, 2026

This is going to be shorter today. You’re welcome:) I have been fairly consumed by my new initiative to chase after the electric signage market for Nimble and sales training. However, we do have a few updates to report …

  • Delivery times on email marketing account messages have been decreased dramatically! They are much much faster!
  • An HTML block for the design template editor is now live.
  • You can also now group delete tags from contact records.

Prospector has received a minor layout update moving it over to its own right sidebar vs. an overlay. I like it much better! I was always having to shift it left and right particularly if I was taking notes on LinkedIn. I understand that, for right now, they are focused on improving its core functionalities. Major improvements will come later.

About my vertical market initiative

I don’t like marketing. I don’t understand it, don’t really want to understand it, and I consider it to be …

That being said, I am actually doing this for three reasons.

  1. While I know how to deploy email marketing in Nimble, my experience has been purely mechanical. I need to better understand how to do it effectively.
  2. If my efforts succeed, great! If not, I have learned what not to do.
  3. My experiences will put me in a better position to advise you as to what works and what does not.

In short, I’m taking one for the team:) Seriously though, I have always been fascinated by learning new things. My failures in the past have taught me just as much as my successes have. I have even been able to take ideas generated by failed projects and convert those for use in successful projects. I call that a win.

Unsubscribe vs. Manage Preferences

Some general rules …

  • An unsubscribe link is always required on an email sequence.
  • An unsubscribe link is always required if you are using an email marketing account sending address in a sequence or group message.
  • An unsubscribe link is recommended for a group message if you are using one of your connected Outlook, Gmail, or other IMAP accounts. You will receive a caution notice which you can dismiss.
  • An unsubscribe link is not required for one-off messages.
  • An unsubscribe link is always required if you want to use the manage preferences link.

When you add an unsubscribe link to a message, you will be asked to specify what message category or categories this message belongs to. For example, and this is user definable, you may have categories for newsletters, product announcements, and promotions. These categories can be found in your email settings.

If, for example, you say that this is a promotional email, and they click on the unsubscribe link, they will have only unsubscribed from promotional emails. Not the other two. You can still send them newsletters and product announcements. What happens if I try to add one of these people to another promotional email? No worries. Nimble will filter them out.

Manage preferences calls up a category list for the user to choose, by unchecking the box, what category or categories they do not wish to continue to receive. Finally, once again in your email settings, find your “Do Not Mail” list. This will show who has bounced or unsubscribed, and what they have unsubscribed from, and your admin has whitelist capabilities.

That will do it for today! Thank you again for placing your trust in my services!
