Nimble CRM Tips & Updates – October 1, 2025

Happy fall! Let’s get started!

Updates

I do appreciate the new capability of creating separate groups for the kinds of templates that you create. Keeps things tidy. Also note that your text and design templates are now clearly identified with a badge.

Nimble has done a “soft release” of AI writing in message compose for both individual messages as well as creating AI generated email templates. I played with this a bit and … it still needs some work which is to be expected for this type of release.

When using AI writing, you can use a template prompt or create your own prompt. The message created will be pre-populated with merge fields. I encountered three issues.

  1. The message itself formatted inconsistently in terms of paragraph and line breaks (easily edited). Reported.
  2. My prompts to correct this fell on deaf “ears”. Reported.
  3. I also ran into some templates that were using merge fields that were not fully identified causing an error? You are supposed to complete these? Reported.

We have had another “soft release” … unsubscribe preferences. My understanding is that, in order to use the “manage preferences” link, you will also need to use an unsubscribe link. You may be able to add an unsubscribe link only. Not sure.

I am not able to fully test this yet as it’s not working, at least for me. Reported and they are correcting it. Still, these are exciting developments and there is more, and more AI, to come! Here is the support article for both template groups and AI writing.

About email send limits …

Recently I did run into a situation with a new client regarding Outlook send limits. While his account allows for over 2,000 email messages per day, he sent a group message to a little over 800 contacts and … it broke his Outlook:(

Apparently Outlook, and other email providers, have separate limits related to batch messages which are not clearly disclosed. Here is what I found on a search …

“Even with a 2,000-message daily limit, sending a single batch of 1,000 emails is risky and likely to get your account flagged or blocked. Outlook also has a separate, much lower limit on the number of recipients per individual message.

Sending such a large batch can trigger anti-spam security measures, as this behavior is often associated with spammers. Instead, you should divide your bulk emails into smaller batches and space them out over time to avoid issues.”

He did receive a “mailbox full” message from Outlook. However, after speaking with his I.T. folks, it sounded more like he was flagged. Maybe it was both, but you don’t want either to happen to you!

Regardless, keep your inboxes clean! Delete old and junk messages. However, if it is important that a message stay attached to a Nimble contact record … do not delete. Archive. Going forward, you do have a couple of options …

  1. As suggested, break up your large list into smaller groups and send, preferably, on different days or …
  2. Opt for Nimble’s email marketing feature. It will set you back an additional $15 per month, but it completely bypasses this potential issue. It is designed for emailing at scale.

Remember that this Nimble option provides you with nothing more than a no-limit email address. Your standard allowance for group and sequence messages in Nimble is 1,000 such messages per user per month (shared).

The email marketing option does not increase this allowance although you can increase it for additional fees.

What I have been working on …

Getting ready for winter. I winterized my motorhome and ATV and I’m building a storage shed so that I can get some stuff out of my garage. Gearing up for leaf season and, boy, do I have the leaves and raking is not my favorite pastime. I’d rather shovel snow:)

That will do it for today! Thank you again for placing your trust in my services!
