Quite a bit to discuss today so let’s get started!
Updates
The two issues that I brought up in my last newsletter have been resolved. The unsubscribe and manage preferences links are now fully functional. Please note that while you can use an unsubscribe link by itself, you must also include this link if you also wish to allow your contacts the ability to manage their preferences.
Also quickly corrected was my issue with the AI messages creating merge tags that did not merge to anything. The formatting of the message is still a wee bit hit and miss, however, this can be easily edited and the dev team is sorting this out.
With AI, you can choose from template prompts or you can/should carefully craft your own prompt. Keep in mind that, while AI might know who you are (a Nimble user), it does not know your target market or services unless you tell it those things.
For example … “Please craft a prospecting email specifically for electric signage companies promoting my Nimble CRM training and implementation services. Also please highlight that I have extensive experience in this industry having served in a number of sales management and ownership positions.”
I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised by the result. Another issue that I had previously encountered was that the AI would not respond to any follow-up prompts that I submitted following the message creation. Now, when I asked it to rewrite the message with a more casual tone … it did:)
New
Nimble has introduced standalone email lists with an optional double opt-in feature. An integration with web forms is coming. I have not really had a chance to play with this and I will likely wait until I can integrate these lists with a newsletter sign-up form on my website. For now, here are two articles for you to review …
Getting Started with Email Lists
Nimble Double Opt-In for Email Lists
Why use email lists instead of creating a tag or a search in order to identify contacts who should receive your newsletters or other materials? First, you can still use these methods. I have a tag, “Nimble Clients”, that I use to identify you and send you this newsletter.
I think that the biggest difference will be the opt-in feature which will verify that folks do in fact want to receive your mailings and that their email address is accurate. This will ensure less bounces and unsubscribes. Right now, using tagging or search assumes that you want to receive my messages and that your email is accurate.
Finally, if and when you might wish to transition from a current tagging or search system to the new email list formats, this can easily be done. Be aware, however, that if you choose to add people to these lists, and you have activated the opt-in feature, they will be asked to confirm their permission before being added to your list.

That will do it for today! Thank you again for placing your trust in my services!
