Updates
Nimble has introduced a new interface for template listings and also for adding a template to a message. No change that I can see in functionality, but much cleaner and more graphical and you can create template groupings.

Coming up …
As mentioned in my last newsletter, Web Chats version #1 has been released. It was said at a recent Nimble webinar, and I am paraphrasing here … “many many more changes will be coming!” I.e. lots of further enhancements! Catch the webinar replay!
Here are a few more things to know about the new unsubscribe lists …
- You are able to define multiple unsubscribe categories. When you create your message and add your unsubscribe link, you will choose which category, or categories, that will be affected if someone clicks the unsubscribe link.
- When you choose the category(s), you are identifying what type of a message this is. In other words, if you say that this message is a “product update”, and you check that category when you add the unsubscribe link, people who click the link will be unsubscribed from future “product updates”.
- An enhancement will be released to allow the recipient to decide which lists to unsubscribe from vs. you specifying which list or lists are applicable.
- When someone unsubscribes from a category(s), they can still receive messages from other categories.
- The unsubscribe lists are mandatory on sequence messages and are recommended on group messages. On individual messages, you will be notified that this person is on your unsubscribe list, but you will still be allowed to email them that individual message.
- Your account administrator has the ability to remove someone from any or all unsubscribe categories.
- We have been told that there will be other email list features released. FYI. Right now there is NOT a Nimble feature specifically for email lists.
Expect a number of future enhancements to these features. There are still quite a few questions in my mind, regarding specific use cases, that remain.
What I have been working on …
You may or may not be aware that the latter years of my professional life (pre 2009) were substantially spent in the electric signage industry. I am still asked from time to time to hire and train new sales reps for one of my former companies.
Once again, I have been calling on ChatGPT to assist me in these tasks. It occurred to me a couple of weeks ago that maybe I could deploy AI to create role play scenarios with ChatGPT interactively playing the part of the customer. We have created one that is focused on the first call and effectively qualifying new opportunities.
It blew my mind! Far exceeded my expectations. I will likely be working on this through the balance of the year. As a part of this, I also uploaded my “selling signs ebook” along with other related collateral in order to train my chatbot in this industry. I am certainly not the first to use AI in role plays but … fun nonetheless:)
Qualifying new opportunities is of particular interest to me. Moreover, Nimble is perfectly designed for this task via Workflows and Pipelines. Both of these represent a process that can, and should, be repeated assuming that they are successful processes.
Let me say this … when deals do not move in pipelines, when closing ratios are abysmal, and when deals just never happen (they don’t buy anything!) … almost 100% of the time this points to that deal not being properly qualified before even reaching the pipeline stage of the process!
It gets worse. You are spending all of your time chasing deals that have little to no chance of closing instead of focusing on those that will. Depending on your business, this may also be taking other valuable staff time as they attempt to service deal opportunities that … have little to no chance of closing. Folks! This is a lose-lose.
