The end of 2022 brought to a close certain chapters of my professional life. NetWorks! Boise, which has helped to feed me for the past 15 years, has been passed on to its new owner. My failed venture into providing an online course for Nimble CRM has been shut down.
I had spent a part of 2022 trying to break into electric signage (my background as an owner and a manager) as a vertical market for my consulting services. I had also gained very little traction toward that goal. Not even one sale. Being persistent, I’m not giving up on that market, at least not yet. Assess, adjust, adapt.
My Nimble CRM consulting business has been going well, but I would like to do more of it so that will be an area of focus. I’d also like to do more sales training and I’m looking at some additional services to add to my stable. All offerings, whatever they may be, need to be integrated and interrelated.
In that regard, I’d like to see my customers invest in multiple services when they choose to invest in one. I’ll chew on an approach for that goal. There is so much that I could be doing better! One obvious area in securing client testimonials and referrals. Developing power partner relationships is another.
Talk about fun! I thrive in this kind of environment. I’ll probably take the next few months to plan my next steps. There are a lot of moving parts and I need to figure out ways to have them mesh. Marketing, which I both hate and suck at, may have to be a part of this. Hopefully, I can rely on pure selling instead.
So much to do, so little time to do it. This is not figuratively. I’m 69 and time seems to keep marching on. Still, I’ll probably continue until I am displayed in an urn above the fireplace. They had better not put me in a litter box.
