2016 Social Selling App and Article Roundup #1

Every day it seems that I either run across, or I am introduced to, some great new apps and articles that pertain to social selling. While I can’t do extensive research or a full review on each, hopefully, you may find some gems for your use that have been hidden inside this regular (at least once monthly) curation.

Apps

Hiver_logoHiver – Hiver is an interesting little app that resides inside of your Google inbox (Gmail or Google Apps). It operates as a lightweight CRM that can be used for either sales or support. You can assign leads or cases, share notes, create tasks, send emails later, and share emails and contacts among multiple Google accounts. That’s a pretty neat trick especially considering that this can be done with email addresses that do not even share the same domain. kitedesk_owler_20160227_035929_originalKiteDesk – I’ve been aware of KiteDesk for a couple of years now and I even wrote an article on it back in February 2014 (KiteDesk Delivers Relationship Data That Soars). While I thought that it was very cool back then, it is way cooler now!

Think of KiteDesk as a top-of-the-funnel prospecting tool. What’s neat is that the KiteDesk service has contracted with several well-recognized list companies that you will now have access to! You can create contacts and prospect lists from literally anywhere on the web and then, if applicable, export the qualified ones to your CRM and work those from there. Watch for my full review in April!

respondRespond – Respond is a new freemium app from Buffer. Now, I love Buffer and everything that they do, and this could be another home run! Respond has been designed as a social support dashboard but, it could also be used for sales. Check it out!

Gopher Leads – Gopher Leads is just now getting ready to be introduced in public beta. It is an easy-to-use mobile lead referral app that is designed to be utilized by your service and delivery personnel who … spend a lot of time in the field. As opposed to fumbling and writing down leads for sales, often to never hear anything back from said salespeople, Gopher Leads ties everything together in a nice neat, reward based, application!

xiqxiQ – Formerly known as SweetSpot, xiQ is similar in some ways to Owler or, for that matter, Google Alerts. It might even have some similarities to Charlie, however, where Charlie focuses on contact intelligence, xiQ provides company intelligence.

19 LinkedIn Ninja Tricks Experts Haven’t Taught You Yet – LinkedIn is a great tool but, and this is particularly for power users … it is not always the friendliest platform. Combine that with their recent propensities to decide to remove various features that I have always thought to be invaluable, these 19 LinkedIn hacks will really make your day!

How to Use Email Outreach to Unlock Growth – I recently received an email for an individual from this company and what really struck me was how personalized and effective it was! This article will give you solid and practical advice on how you can do the same!

Stop the Social Selling Silliness – The author of this article, Mike Kunkle, recently commented on a post that I had written on the same topic. Mike seemed to think that we were brothers from a different mother. Turns out that he was right! Mike’s article is a no B.S. must read on the state of selling today.

And … as a special treat … if you are wondering how we got to where we are today … from the nice folks over at HireVue …
