How to use Nimble CRM with inTHETRIBE [Video]

In a recent Power Breakfast breakout room, someone brought up a discussion of CRM. While one attendee was 100% in the CRM corner, another was quite convinced that the inTHETRIBE interface provided everything that a CRM could or would do and inTHETRIBE did it better. Despite being a Solution Partner for Nimble CRM, I chose to keep my big mouth shut. Mostly.

Still, the “CRM or inTHETRIBE” question is a valid one. Both were correct in their assessments … depending on how you want to use either and what you want to get out of your preferred solution. I will say this, I am a huge proponent of … if your current system works well for you, work it!

Next let’s take this topic a little further by adding the social network of your choice in addition to inTHETRIBE. Things become increasingly more complex when you are dealing with multiple platforms. For example, I want to use my CRM, inTHETRIBE, and LinkedIn and I want them to all work together.

In this video we will look at some ideas for configuring Nimble CRM to work with inTHETRIBE. The principles shown will also work with LinkedIn or any social network of your choice. In fact, Nimble can operate from just about any web-based application or web page and that includes your email inbox.

You will need a Nimble account and it is priced at $19 per user per month (paid annually). This is a free, no credit card required, 14-day trial period. If you are active duty or a vet, Nimble just announced a free 1-year subscription! Thank you for your service!

Please contact me if you are a veteran and I will be happy to connect you with the appropriate person at Nimble. All others can please follow this link to get signed up.

In this video, I will discuss …

  • Multiple ways to import your tribe members into Nimble.
  • How to make a tribe member’s profile a part of their Nimble record.
  • How to stay on top of a touch schedule with your tribe and to register those touches in Nimble.
  • How to use tagging to group your tribe members by specific tribes.
  • How to use Nimble to email your tribe members individually or as a group. This can also be used to send out group invitations, with your link, to prospective tribe members.

We will also talk about what you can and cannot expect from this association. Nimble and inTHETRIBE remain separate platforms and this is not a complete integration between the two. You will still want and need to use each platform for maximum effectiveness.

InTHETRIBE is a social network complete with groups (tribes), forums, conversation streams, and searchable content and offers. It can and should be an inbound marketing tool. It demonstrates your, and your company’s, expertise and it attracts others to you and to your services.

Nimble is a CRM. Nimble does none of the above but it does excel at organizing and managing tribe information, email, your calendars, and leads and opportunities. If you do wish to use both platforms, I think that it will be critical for you to identify which activities you wish to perform on each and then to do those consistently.

Shameless plug – I am very close to publishing two complete online courses on how to use Nimble for Touch and Referral tracking. These courses are very in-depth and they also include complete instructions on how to set up and configure Nimble as a general CRM. I will announce these courses, when available, here on inTHETRIBE with a special offer for tribe members.

In the meantime, I am willing to assist tribe members with any questions that they may have if they choose to pursue what is shown in the video by way of a 30-minute Zoom consultation for free! Just visit my calendar at and please choose the free 30-minute option.

Enjoy the video!
