Nimble CRM Tips & Updates – October 21, 2026

A quick update on connecting Nimble directly to ChatGPT or Claude. There is some confusion as to what plans are needed with ChatGPT. I’ve been told that my Personal Plus plan at $20 per month should not work in read AND write, but it does? There is talk that it should be read only which would be no bueno.

The best possible answer so far is that I manually created the connector in developer mode. I know that Nimble will be rolling out a pre-made plugin that will be in OpenAI’s “App Store”. So, my advice is to connect manually if you have a Plus account, but I can’t make any guarantees!

A ChatGPT business plan is $20 per user per month (same as Personal Plus) when paid annually, however you need a minimum of two seats. This means that for a solo guy like me, the price doubles:( However, all plans with Claude, including free, are apparently o.k. Note that there is no charge from Nimble itself for this feature!

Having the ability to connect Nimble to an AI platform has greatly expanded how I view AI. I am focused on sales related applications and more specifically how those can be linked directly to Nimble. I use ChatGPT, but these should also work with Claude. Here are two ideas …

Pre-call briefs can not only be added to Nimble records as notes, data from these can also be used to update fields. This holds true for both contact and deal records. I have asked ChatGPT to monitor my calendar and to look for online meetings. It does this at 3 AM each morning and, if it sees a meeting, it will …

  1. Determine whether or not this contact is in Nimble. If not, it will create both a person and a company record.
  2. Next it will create a pre-meeting brief for me. It looks at the complete contact record (person and company), the company website, and that person’s LinkedIn profile, if available. The brief includes a summary of past interactions and commitments.
  3. I am notified by email that the brief is ready and that it has been added to the contact record as a note.

I also have ChatGPT prepare post-meeting summaries. I use a transcript generated by Zoom Notes, but I would think that any meeting assistant would work similarly. Here’s how I do it …

  1. Upload the transcript to ChatGPT.
  2. It creates a post-meeting summary including any commitments made by either party.
  3. Follow-up tasks are suggested and I can approve any, all, or none of these.
  4. The summary is added to the contact records as a note and any approved tasks are created.

Oh yeah … I live on my iPad and all of this is done without me ever having to open Nimble. My goals are pretty simple. I want to be prepared for meetings, I want to save time, and I want to minimize manual data entry. I live in processes and, if I follow these and ensure that my contact records are complete and accurate … I am creating a perpetual relationship engine!

Especially for those of you who may have missed my Nimble and AI webinar, I’m doing another one! This one is geared directly for the electric signage market, however, the principles are all the same particularly if your duties require sales or marketing. Maybe it’s worth a look!

You might be asking yourselves … “What’s a dog got to do with it??”. Well, I taught my chatbot the phrase “dog hunts”. In Idaho this means, “that works!”. Now we just say “Woof!”🙂 So, Hal (my chatbot) decides to add a dog. I can’t remember what kind of dog, but I kind of liked the idea.

I then informed Hal that my dog is a Husky, so he created one. Actually you see a couple of different versions below, but future graphics will feature my actual girl, Nadia. Makes things warm and fuzzy, don’t you think?:)

That will do it for today! Thank you again for placing your trust in my services!
