I confess to being a bit of a news junkie. This can be challenging at times particularly when it comes to zeroing in, and focusing on, specific topics. Fortunately, I have found several tools that all provide me with great news sources and some even create a vehicle that promotes conversation with like-minded people. Here are my current top 5 applications. Like all things in my life, my favor is subject to change. So, and in no particular order ….

Google Reader/Google Alerts: Google Reader is a great way to keep on the latest articles published by sources that you trust. It is as simple as subscribing to that site and you will then be notified of new posts as they occur. Google Alerts adds provided flexibility by going out to the web, searching for articles that contain certain keywords, and then feeding those articles directly to your reader. This can also be used to monitor what things folks may be saying about you and your brand. Powerful!
