Nimble CRM has always been sales-centric and for small teams and solopreneurs. However, the line between sales and marketing has decidedly blurred. It started with social media and now salespeople, more and more, are performing marketing related functions. Even if in a small team, they may or may not have a dedicated marketing staff.
I have represented Nimble since day one. Going from memory, what follows is a chronological listing of the steps that they have taken toward becoming an integrated email marketing platform.
Workflows and automations – Effective workflows have proven to be foundational to email marketing. After all, when someone reaches out requesting more information about your services, where are they gonna’ go? How about a lead qualification process workflow complete with automated actions as they move through the stages.
Group messages and text templates – Sending out one message to many requires two elements … templates and the ability to merge contact record fields and Nimble has both.
Unsubscribe – If you wish to do mass mailings, you must provide the ability for recipients to unsubscribe should they so desire.
Design templates – We started out with text only templates and then added on design templates. Think of newsletters with graphics. As an added feature, Nimble has provided a variety of both text and design templates for you to edit however you wish or … create your own from scratch.
Web forms – Do you wish to build your newsletter list? Create a web form and imbed it on your website! From there, a contact record is created and they can be added to an email list. This $12 per month option also includes the ability to email links to a form, web chats for your website, and web hooks to connect Nimble to a 3rd. party application.
Email sequences – Sequences allow you to add contacts to a drip campaign where you can create a series of messages and depending on what your recipient does with those, they either continue to receive messages or move out from the sequence either successfully or unsuccessfully.
Email marketing account – If you want to send messages at scale, you are not going to do that with your Microsoft or Google connected account. For $15 per month, knock yourself out! Please note that your standard Nimble account includes 1,000 group or sequence messages per user per month which can be increased.
Manage preferences with unsubscribe categories – The next phase of unsubscribes included the capability to create unsubscribe categories. In this way, folks might unsubscribe from your promotions but not from important account updates. Furthermore, you can now allow them to manage these preferences on their own.
Email lists and double opt-in and verify – Dedicated email lists are now available and they come with an optional double opt-in feature. In this way, you can be assured that folks want to receive your messages and that their email address is valid. Using enrichment credits you can also have Nimble verify email addresses. Your included credits can be increased.
Email message AI – AI comes to Nimble starting with text messages. Templates are available for a variety of use cases or just tell Nimble what you want and it will create one for you from scratch.
Sequence AI – Hot off the presses! You can now use Nimble AI to create complete sequences including messages as well as your sequence framework. Nice!
For good measure, provide a variety of reports tied to group messages and sequences so that you can monitor and evaluate your results. On group messages, this includes tracking individual link clicks by recipient.
Another critical aspect of this evolution has been tying many of these elements together. For example, and these are automations …
- Web forms can be tied to sequences, workflows, and email lists.
- Workflows can be tied to sequences.
- Sequences can be tied to workflows.
- Templates can be integrated into workflows.
Perhaps most importantly, Nimble has brought these capabilities directly into a fantastic CRM making it a totally integrated sales outreach tool while negating the need for 3rd. party applications.
